Memorialize Your Wedding Day

I've attended a ton of weddings over the years. I think I have been in more than ten, but this past June I had my own weddings. It was a blast, but everyone was right - it came and went in a flash. Yes, we have the photos, the memories, the video - but we have something tangible to remember the day by, something we can share with our future generations.

Do you have anything like that from your wedding day?


Here's an idea!


What about a custom designed, personalized wedding axe.


Is there a better, more functional, way to remember the big day? I think not.


We intend to hang this axe on a wall in our house.


It also holds some symbolism. An axe is made of hard steel - it's very difficult to break. We see this as a symbol of our foundational love for each other.

The wedding cake is almost as symbolic as the wedding dress itself. And what does everyone use to cut their cake? A boring old knife.


We cut our cake with our wedding axe! Our family and friends loved it and it was a great way to break away from the normal routine and give people something to talk about!

The axe also had a prominent theme throughout our entire wedding and was incorporated into the decor.


A friend designed what we now refer to as our 'family crest'.


We used this on our invites, save the dates, stickers, banners and signs! It was featured on the hotel welcome bags and on the party favors.


We actually now have beer pints with this logo etched into the glass. Cheers!

My groomsmen all received custom-painted and branded axes specifically tied back to memories we share together or places where we've traveled or met.


Some (like the one pictured) were inspired by our time at Michigan State University while others were vintage pieces that were brought back to life after being buried along a river.
